More About Us

My name is Tai Novak.  In 2003, after 20 years in the Charlotte corporate world, I made a leap of faith and decided to become a small business owner. With my husband, Steve, we bought a small furniture consignment shop in Cornelius NC. near Lake Norman.  We instantly fell in love with the business.  We found consignors great to work with and shoppers always excited to find that “new to them” special something.  We made many new friends and enjoyed hearing their stories about kids, grandkids, vacations and just about anything else.  Everyone, it seems, has something to share.

Space was limited, however, so we decided to make the next leap and move to Denver NC. on the west shore of Lake Norman.  The Interior Connection was born.  We continue to take pride in developing relationships with both our consignors and customers.  We firmly believe in helping people find new homes for their furnishings that no longer fit their tastes.  Our goal is to make it as simple as possible to make your changes. 

We are strong proponents of recycle and reuse and we like to think of ourselves as a working part of the great recycling stream.  There are so many things out there just waiting for a new home.  Most are worth their wait in savings and style.  Furniture can tell a story, too.  Generational memories, and a sense that we are all family, can’t always be neatly captured in pictures.  Sometimes scratches are stories, too.  Finding new homes for quality furniture, antiques, artwork and accessories is our mission and our passion.
